2.6.15-Blackhawk
This release is based on the patches from the Fedora Core 5 2.6.15
kernel, Con Kolivas patchset 2 for the 2.6.15 kernel and a series of
patches part of the nitro3 patchset, found on the gentoo forums.

- Anticipatory I/O scheduler set as default, instead of CFQ. Good perofrmance I/O scheduler, although it may not perform as well with large databases.
- Preemptible kenrel configured for all supported architectures.
- Low latency preemption mode for multimedia applications and games.
- SMP configurations support for up to 32-processors for x86_64 configuration, support for 8 for i386, both include SMT support (PIVHT).
- Support for softmac on 802.11.
- Latest libata for improved and broader support for SATA and PATA devices. Improved speed on SATA.
- Improved sound support:
- Dynamic minors support (more than 8 soundcards)
- Support for old ALSA API.
- Added AMD C5535 support
- Added Digigram PCXHR
- USB HID mouse polling interval for improved mouse control set to
2 miliseconds from previous release of 5 ms (report if any problems).

- Logitech Mouse Man Dua Optical
- Logitech iFeel
- Microsoft Intellimouse (wheelmouse, explorer, Optical)
- Others (Genius and other brands)
- NTFS read support.
- Squashfs support.
- Unionfs support.
Prominent patches applied, not configured by default due to possible
incompatibilities, additional requirements:

- ReiserFS 4 support. This filesystem is not configured by default as all the utiliteis required (namely reiserfsprogs) for this version of the filesystem have to be obtained by default, and the fact that the FS requires to be compiled into the kernel image. The functionality is there if anyone is willing to try it out.
- Layer 7 Match NF support (from the help entry): Say Y if you want to be able to classify connections (and their packets) based on regular expression matching of their application layer data. This is one way to classify applications such as peer-to-peer filesharing systems that do not always use the same port. This is more a server option (router or firewall, actually), and as such is not set for Desktop use.
